I I think it's the end of the first could be am I crazy it might have been I was watching it while I was working out so you might who was the guy lost to uh I'll tell you right now I have a computer but uh weinland I mean coming off of a title fight right you know uh comes off of that fight then looks Sensational in his next fight he fights um did he just get caught he fought Eve Joe bune stopped him and looked [ __ ] Sensational no he fight in a weird way he weinland keeps his never lifts his hands above his nipples aggressive too super aggressive super strong he's a really good Fighter moves his head a lot he's got a lot of faints and he gets away with it and the punches come from all kinds of crazy angles because his hands are low but that's never a good style it's just never a good style keeping your [ __ ] hands low is never good and this kid cracked him Johnny Eduardo cracked him with the right hand in the first round um yeah was you right round one 4 minutes 37 seconds and round one caught him with a a right hand earlier in the round and then stunned him with one about 4 minutes 20 in and then followed up with another one and dropped him and his legs just completely gave out Eddie's always that guy who's one away from a title just in that weight class he's always he's always right there especially one big win he's there coming off that Eve job fight where he [ __ ] sensation and Jo is a bad [ __ ] dude that that was a really good fight and Eddie what what ranked number four I think so he's close one win exctly he's number four he takes his fight against an unheralded guy who hasn't fought in over two years this kid hadn't fought in I think it was something crazy like 700 days God oh my God uh man tough that's where it doesn't pay to take fights like this yeah you're right you're right well a lot of guys sit out and people give them a hard time and they say oh Fighters fight but you know what it's not like that man it's a business like the the you should have a manager listen UFC off me a fight I take but at the same time too you want to fight the highest ranked guy the most famous guy possible that's all anyone cares about man the highest ranked guy who who have you ever turned down who have you ever turned down and why um man
the only fight I ever turned down it was once I don't remember his name he uh huge guy uh Grappler Abu Dhabi fought uh PeeWee Herman lost PeeWee Herman fight of the night oh you know what I'm talking about he retired enormous dude H God damn it okay let's Dave Herman pull that up the rock it he he really sweats a lot is that the guy the guy sweats a lot the guy who sweats a lot man I forget his name godamn like super muscular and my my my maner called me and uh with the fight and I was like uh oh John Olive inim inim inim so they called me the fight and uh I just got off fight noera so I'm not going to go noera inim right I was just like no man not happening and uh my manager's like well let's see what they come with I said all right well if it's a do or die I'll take it let's do it I'll destroy this guy and then they came up with a different opponent came up with Rothwell but that's the only fight where I was like H I don't think so man right yeah the only time yeah it's a tricky thing right like when you you want to take a fight if you you know if you need a fight if you need the money you want to take a fight but if you're in a situation where they offer you something dangerous on two weeks notice yes like sometimes cards fall apart and they try to pull that card together like they're making a bunch of calls this week to try to get someone to fight vtor and Brazil because Junior dos Santos just broke his hand Junior dos Santos is supposed to fight stie miic he broke his hand um they had miic is now gonna F right Mala is that Mal Fabio Maldonado who's a 205 who's fat at 205 true you know and now he's stepping up to fight heavyweight and stie Mio who's a top 10 guy so it's it's kind of a crazy matchup that probably wouldn't be approved in the states I agree and I also heard that you can get your money back oh wait why would why wouldn't that fight be in the states like there's 205 are fighting a top 10 heavy so there's a commission that says that's just too much of a mismatch well not even a 205 a 205 that's been zombied you know I mean he's been beaten senseless by a bunch of guys he's a tough [ __ ] he's as tough as they come Fabio Maldonado is so tough that you got to watch out for him if he
fights a big guy because you got to go God this guy takes so much punishment he's so [ __ ] tough you got to prot almost protect him from on the other end though I can see cuz Stipe has in the past don't get me wrong Stipe is a beast used to be a training part of mine super freak too athlete too monster however when he fought stru he kind of gassed out and got knocked out correct yeah yeah now in this fight it I mean the cardio could be an issue and uh Fabiano boxing is really really good he's got rabid fans in the world driving him I mean we watch we watched him in Brazil and they' go crazy for Fabio Maldonado is just as tough as [ __ ] he's tough as [ __ ] man he and he's probably one of the best body punchers in the sport my concern would just be the size just a sheer size difference what does CPA walk around at 230 so who who's this right now who's fighting right now and Jamie give us give us some volume so we can at least hear it hearing it is fine Chris cariaso and who's he fighting though give us some volume the official Bruce Buffer with the official introduction this the coolest the coolest [ __ ] thing is watching Bruce Buffer introduce fighters in Brazil because everybody together goes It's Time really gangster 15,000 people will be doing it in sync no way oh it's amazing it's one of the coolest things ever he's actually great he's got that great voice Bruce Buffer is the best he really is he's the best the best Bruce Bruce Buffer I've seen him at Gold's Gym I work out there in the offseason I saw him in Gold's Gym on the cable machine doing the Bruce what was it the 1 180 turn he works it out he works it out with with and and I I so explosive I didn't see him and I'm walking through the gym I hear hybrid in front of everyone I was so embarrassed so embarrassed oh that's funny that's so fun he's good though he doesn't take he doesn't have a a card with him or anything he just remembers it all that's not true at all he has a card constantly throws card on the ground what are you talking about he reads off the cards he throws the cards on the ground when he's done really [ __ ] jackass get your facts right Jes maybe oh no I was talking about the rock again [ __ ] by the way all you [ __ ] that
get mad at me for giving Brian a hard time do you know I'd love this [ __ ] like a brother and I would give him a hard time if it was a podcast or no podcast that's how friends hang with people get sensitive for me thank you everybody fun thank you America way he'll do that to me too okay that's what friends are all about just not on the podcast this is the Jo I just don't have as many weaknesses as him so it's more difficult to find holes L openings but if he finds holes in my game he will chip at them exactly right that's one of the things that friends are for I like the USA keep each other honest we got a good friend time they jump on board USA judo jumping on board USA wring jum on yeah well USA wrestling's been on for a while yeah it is USA wrestling's been ony brenon I feel like when you kick to to the body with your with the top of your these guys are fighting he did say that last time I watch you fight with them when you kick but when you kick to the body with the top of your foot I always feel like that's so risky because you could break the top of your foot so easily shut the [ __ ] up on an elbow hey man hey man we're talking Taekwondo no well you know I broke the top of my foot many times on elbows yeah that's what I'm say elbows that's what you got to be most concerned got scar yeah but look obviously you can break your [ __ ] shins you break everything yeah mine are lightning fast cuz I go I go up and then I kick you see Tyrone Spong against [ __ ] gaki holy [ __ ] no I didn't see that it's weird seeing a highle kickboxer do that it's super rare I agree but to me it's surprising not more guys break their legs yeah it is what's weird is like this rash of broken legs you know Anderson Silva Tyrone Spong I saw Anderson Silva last week looking pretty good moving pretty good yeah well Tyron Spong is only four weeks out I think he's already walking yeah he's walking on a treadmill no cast no nothing got a bolt in there now back in the day when you break your femur or break your bone in half like that they would keep you off it what they do now is within 12 hours 24 hours they try to get you walking on it immediately and the reason for that they'll set it and have you actually start putting pressure on it because the
B what they found is that you heal faster because your body rushes calcium to that part of the bone is that weird that is weird within 12 hours yeah 12 12 hours how can you walk in a broken leg in 12 hours obviously you don't put yeah you don't put a lot of you don't put a lot of pressure but when they break their femur skier they got those guys in their feet as soon as possible possible because apparently you know you you heal much faster wow yeah so Koso is a he's a wild [ __ ] man I love watching that kid fight me too and now that he's this is 125 right these guys are fighting 125 are they not uh flyweights yeah 125 cuz he he fought at 135 for the longest time and he was kind of undersized I'm glad they have that they're you know they're thinking about doing a straw weight a 115 for guys for women's obviously they are but for guys they are straw weight man that is a small dude that's a small dude right that would be such a nightmare to fight that guy cuz he'd probably still win and he's so small I box with that guy Wayne McCulla he'd light you up if you Tred to fight him you kidding me the worst thing ever it just Tak so longer 119 oh what's like Kenny Floy you see Kenny FL in a bar probably G to pick on him yeah dresses dresses like a hipster although one the baddest dudes on the planet but both my head and your head would fit in Kenny's head he's got a giant head big head set of hair huge head when I first saw him in person I went that can't be Flor and that's the biggest head I've ever seen on that gentleman and uh I wonder if that there's a real direct correlation between taking a punch and having a big head I always joke around about it and talk about it in podcast I feel like there is well boxing boxing trainers think Emanuel Stewart said that they look for when when trainers looking for boxers they look for a wide face and a short neck well look at David Tua who took a punch better than that guy look at Roy Nelson look at Mark hunt Mark hunt Roy Nelson yeah yeah then there's some guys that just like Tommy Hearns always had a hard time taking a punch just has that narrow face and there's nothing you can do about that just it is what it is you want to talk about a guy who's been in some [ __ ] Wars Tommy Hearns I was watching some Tommy Hearns fights
the other day on YouTube that jab how about when he knocked out Duran dude he knocked Duran dead and he was and he was and he fought at 47 which I can't believe yeah well he fought as high as uh light heavyweight I believe lost to Iran Barkley I think that was at 168 I'm not sure you know you know what's interesting about this fight is uh usually you have to have so for instance homeboy on the cage has red shorts cariaso yes and the other guy has black and red shorts right both similar shorts usually have to be complete opposite shorts they force you to do that yeah it's just the bottom of the trim though it's pretty obvious isn't it you think i' say is he Joka this guy the the guy um um what's his Karas smoka cariaso no he's a mu Tha guy Ryan's caught on using that term first of all first of all my favor favorite word don't let Ronda tell him some moves it's my favorite word though har GOI oh [ __ ] look at this oh boy that's tight oh Bo nope lost the position better let go of that Guillotine a lot of guys have been catching that Von flu choke Yeah man cuz they hang under the guillotine look at this he gets for it again does he's not under the chin though he's just neck cranking him here nice oh nice nice finish the end of the round Scrappy end of the round yeah l guys hang on to that Guillotine and then all the guy's doing is taking them down passing side control and you can't get your glove out you know what I'm saying you can't get your glove out so then you have a a choke there you're just ramming your shoulder into the artery and they they can't get it out the it's called the Von flu choke that's what uh everybody calls it because someone just had a big finish with that recently yeahp yeah ens against Al Capone yeah a guy who was fighting in heavyweight most of his career really undersized heavyweight like one of the smallest heavyweights ever yeah he's fighting uh Cody Donovan in Dublin now Ireland OSP is yeah uh no uh alapon at 205 interesting that that Von flu choke you very rarely see in Jiu-Jitsu though that's what's interesting about it cuz Jiu-Jitsu guys don't a good jiujitsu gu is not going to hang on to that yeah he's just not it's true they're not going to waste their energy high level
juice guy is not going to waste his energy on that it's a guy who's kind of panicking in a fight panic in a fight gets taken down and doesn't want the guy to posture so he holds on to the guillotine and then when your gloves caught in there you're screwed man it's a lot of pressure m i mean I'm sure you felt it but with a glove on it's a different story when you're stuck it's like dang yeah when a guy really knows how to put that weight on it too he got a good side control he knows how to pin you down put force that shoulder into your neck yeah you go to sleep some guys can [ __ ] you up just head and arm control when they're passing your guard there's different kinds of pressure it's like there wrestler pressure there's some guys get on top of you they just they know how to put all their weight on a very small Point like there's some guys who get side control on you but they're like laying on their knees and even if their side control is solid if you can't get out of it you're not hurting you're not in pain and then there's other [ __ ] that will have all of their weight on like the left side of their chest and they'll like put side control on you just Crush you we you like a glove it's a science it really is it's a balance I'm still working on it it's hard man it's hard and it's interesting because I have like a nasty twister side control on on the right side but then when I do it on the left side it feels alien cuz I never go to it on the left side I have some positions like that it's weird well you would think that this is a position I know in my head inside and out it's not that complex a position but on the right side bam it's like a [ __ ] like it's it's like a clamp B it's like locked in place but on the on the other side I'm like moving too much and I'm slippery I'm trying wish people could see Joe cuz he's actually moving around in his chair he wiggling I'm a wigg he's a wiggler in this corner the wiggler I'm a wiggler Brian Callen Brian Callen I'm a wiggler you are you ever going to go back to Jiu-Jitsu um I think I'd like he's talking about on the right down here I miss it a lot and then he goes well everyone has neck problems who does Jiu-Jitsu that is true a lot of people do not going to win I feel you're a big guy yeah it's the the real problem is
rolling with big guys don't roll with big guys stacked getting stacked is a big problem and exploding trying to explode from the bottom a lot of times guys get injured doing that bridge you got to be smart Brian you're not trying to win Abu Dhabi or am just gra just grapple with girls only exactly when when when Brian and I first met each other I brought him to Carlson Gracie's and he started working out with Sergio Cohen who's one of Carlson Gracie's black belts and he like grabbed Sergio's neck because like grabbed his neck like clawed his neck going Sergio headbutted him in his nose and broke his nose and just smushed him like a bug cuz I was actuallyy I went in there like thinking as a wrestler I was gonna take these I was taking like people down cuz they they don't care about that let let me let me clarify this is not what happened he he just got aggressive and douchy with a guy who was a big Juiced up crossing gate black belt I mean I would pay money for that he's a big guy pay money to watch that yeah I didn't have any respect cuz I thought was the wrestling it's just bad wrestling I didn't know ridiculous so ridiculous I love it you were that Meathead who's going all hard I was just taking I would like they' mean other white belts and other like blue belts who'd never done any wrestling so I'd be taking them down and then I go Serio who decides to go let's let's do some you want to take you want to go takedowns and he grabs me and I was like oh well that's a bear and then he was so much bigger than him okay now we're back we're back to Fox Sports One everybody the fights were on Fox Sports 2 and then what happened the basb we'll get back to we'll get back to my fight they that [ __ ] baseball game what was it N9 nothing forc us to baseball if they invented baseball today people would spit in your face if you tried to sell it to them I agree I agree if you tried pitching to everyone be what a game it could take forever like [ __ ] like Cricket imagine trying to pitch Cricket whoa whoa whoa whoa why is he throwing the ball like that what is he doing why does he have a paddle your arm your arm hold on he has a paddle the other guy has a paddle and why is this game lasting three days three [ __ ] days you just Nick it and make it go backwards and win

seem to lie at two between even if you let made the weight class 300 and you had a 300lb guy well the difference is in boxing in boxing it's a little lighter because you don't get a got to we on you like you have to deal with the fact you're moving body weight around like there's a different way like in boxing look at in my opinion Mike Tyson in his prime the Mike Tyson of the early the like the 85 Mike Tyson that range I think he's the greatest heavyweight of all time that's my opinion just a lot of other people have opinions but I think the Mike Tyson that destroyed Marvis Frasier the mike that knocked out Larry Holmes about 220 220 maybe 218 crazy speed just [ __ ] guys just [ __ ] them but I don't think you could get away with that as a UFC fighter I don't think and boxing by the way doesn't even have a [ __ ] weight limit he would have been what too too too small to handle a big guy on top of them you know a guy like Kane takes you down lays on you and starts you got a guy like Bigfoot who's cutting from 300 man you're talking about a different game like it's always funny to me and granted listen cutting weight I'm sure is horrendous I I've cut from 250 to 225 for metamoris and it was tough but not like these guys you know making 155 145 but we'll be at the weightings and nothing drives me more crazy everyone goes God wish I was a heavyweight everyone tells that to wish I was a heavyweight oh do you cuz cuz do you oh really that's cool you're fighting a guy at 155 right that's cool cuz I weigh 238 the guy I'm fighting's 265 I'm I'm scared [ __ ] he has 25 pounds on that's a lot of weight that's a lot of weight 2 think 2 two different weight classes almost 25 man 25 16 oun bones stacked on top of each other and then that drops in your head just that is is that two-way classes pretty much and there's there's no other division like that there's nothing like that this guy keeps giving his neck to Karas cariaso on the bottom there you're right you know the the shorts are confusing cuz I just thought smoka was on the bottom there I've never seen it this close usually UFC doesn't play that game you know you know you're fighting a superstar if they're like yeah he he gots black shorts to make you change the
color your short like crop they're like you're wearing white he's obviously wearing the Croatian flag black cool man nobody ever had to worry about that with Rich Franklin he's got the pink shorts he can have oh cariaso is mounted oh [ __ ] smoke is on top of him did you guys see the Zack Cummings fight earlier tonight no [ __ ] incredible Fight Man incredible what a fight it was awesome yeah and cummings was the underdog and he wound up winning I don't think Mount is a dangerous position as everyone thinks as it's notoriously known for what do you think of that Joe um I think in MMA the the problem with the mount is when you go to rain down punches you give up space and when you give up space guys put their hands on your hips and they P exactly like people think when you get to Mount like oh no it's over no especially if a guy know knows what he's doing your posture but but if you're if you have your hooks in you're controlling them you're not going to be able to punch as hard well some guys have a nasty Mount like benitz has a wicked Mount because he does he does a guard from the mount I love that position when when a uh when you mount a guy and you cross your feet underneath his body you can constrict him the same way you can with a guard and Ben aidz if he gets a an arm anywhere near your chin his Guillotine game is so strong as is your favors as is mes all the Alpha Team guys they're they're ridiculous when they get your neck I'm just saying as far as taking punishment if if you have a decent Mount guard defense yeah these guys are evenly matched yeah it's a hell of a SC this this is a great Jiu-Jitsu match actually yeah there used to be a time where Mount or like back Mount was game over I think people got used to that like for like five years oh he's got his back it's same thing like someone gets to Mountain even in even in uh Camp right now someone get to Mountain everyone like oh no like well do you remember when that big of a deal Remco paru fought Marco HOAs Marco HOAs mounted him and he tapped it's like it's over just sheer te he got the mount he's like he just over the position is no good you know what one one guy where if he got mount it was actually over and you should tap Shane Carwin oh yeah that's a good point that's like having a building on you dude didn't matter how

and I had injured uh my hamstring or my groin rather and uh the the tournament was the week after that and I was like well I'm not going to fight them I'm I'm hurt this thing I need to heal up and then I woke up the morning of the fights and I had a bunch of donuts I never would normally eat and then I had some coffee cuz I used to have a paper route that's how I us to make money when I was fighting I said get up in the morning I would get up at 5:00 a.m. and I would deliver pap from 5 to 7:00 then I go back to sleep and so uh I I I had these [ __ ] Dunkin' donuts donuts with uh powdered sugar and lemon filling and uh and I had some Boston cream donuts and I was good for you lit up with sugar and I was like I'm [ __ ] fighting so I got my car I I went home I packed my bag and I went I I not only didn't I not think about it I told myself I wasn't fighting so for a week I was relaxed as [ __ ] and I did no training whatsoever I mean I might have like did some stretching I definitely worked out in the pool cuz that's what I would do when I wasn't fighting if I was injured I tore my uh sartorious muscle besides my ACL is one of the biggest injuries I ever had was a it's a a sorious connects your hip to your quadricep it's a pretty big muscle and it was a pretty bad injury sounds like a dinosaur it was for a few months I couldn't throw any kicks at all it was pretty bad but um so besides that this I it hurt my myself so I said you know what let me just take some time off I did a little swimming and this and that and the day of I decided [ __ ] it I'm fighting but I fought so good because I had I slept good I relaxed I the whole week I wasn't nervous I was Z I had zero nerves the whole week because I was convinced that I wasn't fighting so it was just a sugar rush a split decision and it was one of my did work as taekwondo fighter was one of my biggest victories winning the US Open it was like a big [ __ ] from some athletes when you're a little bit injured too it kind of takes some of the pressure off you for your own performance you're like well I'm injured anyway train you don't ever train like I think Bernard Hopkins would you tell me Bernard Hopkins says that said that something like why would I train most of these guys overtrain he doesn't even

telling me you know he was trying all these different things to get his nerves back but it's a long [ __ ] time it's been years he's got this massive atrophy on his right arm like boss had neck problems all the way back to the tooshi kosaka fight when he won the UFC heavyweight title couldn't wrestle training for that fight same [ __ ] as Carwin had like serious uh neck injuries and couldn't [ __ ] wrestle and so then he I think he was T of Anarchy was doing stunts for and uh they he fell on his head and spiked on his neck and it's like serious [ __ ] pain herniated disc in the neck atrophy of the nerves like the whole deal but boss is just such an animal he's like one of those guys that like if he gets injured he just sucks it up and keeps working out he's one of the original fighters who was a freak athlete I feel like just picked up things so fast he was one of the best strikers in the early days Nast stri how do not who who of the old yeah you can't ask like that because it's evolved I try to do the boss rout and jumping double kick on the trampoline all the time yeah it's totally useless unless you're in a movie well hence the trampoline and two dummies are running at you I I I I would imagine Matt Brown sits a super high Pac being his home town he come out pretty amped up well it's also a big question like how how much time he had to fix that back you got to remember this is five rounds so that pace there's no way you can do it for five rounds just can't I don't know you know I don't know what his injury was like but I know that like Matt Sarah when he came back from herniating a disc in his back and he fought GSP he was really not the same he was really not the same and most guys when they injure a disc in their back your your back is a lot like your knee which is a lot like your brain you know when a that's the good analogy like a guy doesn't understand what a brain injury is like when you get k koed and then you get koed again easily afterwards it's just like tweaking a knee and you rip a ligament and you get it fixed but then your knee is always kind of sore you know when you hurt your back though that's so different CU it's connecting your nerves to all your Muses a back injury I don't think so because
